My Heart, His Throne
By: Joyce C. Lock
The Wise in Heart will Receive Commandments.
Proverbs 10:8 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding ... that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God. God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom.
For the Lord giveth wisdom: When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul. Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Wisdom Resteth In the Heart of Him Who Hath Understanding.
Proverbs 14:33
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother.
The Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: He hath made every thing beautiful in his time. For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And ye shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.
Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
The Heart of Him Who Hath Understanding Seeketh knowledge.
Proverbs 15:14
Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding … When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul.
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness ... For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Proverbs 4:23
