Revelations, A Study. section 11

By: Rev.Anthony Smith

Revelations A Study. Section 11. Chapter 14:1 thru 14:20, The hundred forty and four thousand preach the Gospel to the Jews, Rapture of Saints and destruction of wicked. Rev.14: thru 14:7. Revelations is a book of absolutes. Many of the verses in chapter 14 are self explanitory. I have introduced explanition where needed. Rev 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb{The Christ} stood on the mount Sion [A name of Mount Hermon. Most Holy Mountain of God.]{Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city[Jerusalem,City of David] of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,}, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand{The Sealed Jews of Israel}, having his Father's name{Jehovah} written in their foreheads. There are many that believe that Armogeddon has nothing to do with Israel. This is because they fail to research the prophecy of the old Testiment. The Land of Israel is the land that Satan and the Anti-christ must obtain to stop prophecy from being fulfilled. We will expand into that area later in our studies, countries, maps and areas. Rev 14:2 thru 14:7 is self explanitory. Rev 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: Rev 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits{First congregation of believeing Jews} unto God and to the Lamb. Rev 14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Babylon is two places in Revelations, The physical and the Spiritual. In Hebrew writeings when a name or should I say subject is mentioned twice that indicates that it happens twice. The first was the fall of Physical Babalon in the Old Testiment. Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. [Ref; Rev_16:19, Rev_17:5, Rev_17:18, Rev_18:2, Rev_18:3, Rev_18:10,Rev_18:11, Rev_18:18-21; Isa_21:9; Jer_51:7, Jer_51:8, Jer_51:64, Rev_11:8, Rev_17:2-5, Rev_18:3, Rev_18:10,Rev_18:18, Rev_18:21, Rev_19:2; Jer_51:7; Eze_16:15-22; Nah_3:19] The second is both spiritual and physical. The spiritual side concerns, false, doctrine, teaching, preaching. The physical side is an actual city of earth that John explaines later. Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, These next two verses; 10 & 11, show the punishment of Hell. Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. [Ref; Isa_33:14, Isa_34:10; Joe_2:30; Luk_16:23, Deu_28:65; Isa_57:20] Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth{These are the ones mentioned in {Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?}: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Rev 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle {Ref;Joe_3:12, Joe_3:13; Mat_13:30; Mar_4:29}. Rev 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. Rev 14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.[ 14:15 & 14:16, Rapture of Saints from the Earth] Great violence and death takes place in this area of time upon the earth. Gods patience with man is over. Rev. 14:17 thru 14:20, judgment and death come upon the inhabitents of the earth that followed the Beast. [Ref; Isa_62:1, Isa_62:6, Isa_62:7, Jer_51:33; Joe_3:13; Zec_5:6-11;] Rev 14:17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. Rev 14:18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. Rev 14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. Rev 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress = {Isa_34:5-7, Isa_66:24; Eze_39:17-21, Isa_63:1-3}, even unto the horse bridles ={5 to 6 ft.}, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.=A unit for measuring distance, equal to 1/8 mile (201 meters). The spiritual meaning indicates great violence and death to all unbelievers. Isa 66:24 [ a window into hell is opened, those that are left alive will be able to see the consequences of rejecting Christ.]And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. We will get deeper into Babylon the city in future sections. end section 11.
