Revelations, A Study - Part 16 by Rev. Anthony Smith

By: Rev.Anthony Smith

Revelations a Study. Section 16. The Number of man killed in the three battles for the earth is stagering. We have never seen such destruction and bloodshed in this life. The Reason that we continue to preach and teach the scriptures is because of the pain and torment that will befall many. Some try to say that Christianity will convert the world. This is a miss leading statment and also false. The apostile Paul stated that, 1Co 9:22 “To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” That I might by all means save some. And this is our purpose here, to try to win as many as we can before its too late.

1Co 9:23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. Chapter 20:1 thru 20:15, The binding of Satan, The first resurrection, Judgment, Satan, the beast, and the false prophet cast into the Lake of Fire. This section speaks of the thousand year reign of Christ upon the earth. This verse is literial. Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. This verse is literial. Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

This verse is literial. Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.= Satan being bound by Christ will have no power untill he is realeased after the thousand years and at that time will be allowed to run wild untill He is finally defeated by Christ.

This verse is literial. Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Many believe that there will only be one but the scripture speaks otherwise.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. The second death is the final judgment of the lost where they are resurected to judgment, tried, convicted andsentanced to the lake of fire. This verse is literial. Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, This verse is literial. This is the final battle of Gog and Magog, there was two. Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. All nations on the earth will compass about Jeruselam and there by be destroyed. This is contrary to what many are teaching about Jerusalem. The Battles will be fought there.

Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. Psa 59:13, Isa 7:20, Psa 37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. Dan 2:44

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Sense Satan was never in the flesh he did not have to be killed.Isa 14:15,Isa 24:18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

The Great White Throne Judgment, God has left all judgment to the Son. This verse is literial. Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. This verse is literial. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

This verse is literial. Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Hos_13:14; 1Co_15:26, 1Co_15:53. Scofield states "The second death" and the "lake of fire" are identical terms (Rev_20:14) and are used of the eternal state of the wicked. It is "second" relative to the preceding physical death of the wicked in unbelief and rejection of God; their eternal state is one of eternal "death" (that is, separation from God) in sins (Joh_8:21); (Joh_8:24). That the second death is not annihilation is shown by a comparison of (Rev_19:20); (Rev_20:10).

After one thousand years in the lake of fire, the Beast and False Prophet are still there, undestroyed. The words "forever and forever" ("to the ages of the ages") are used in (Heb_1:8) for the duration of the throne of God, eternal in the sense of unending.I added this because I agree with his intrepretation.

This verse is literial. Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. If you are able to get your loved ones to read any of this study, get them to at least read this on and the references with it. end Section 16.
