Scriptural Prayer for Guidance

By: Jessica Gerald

Dear Lord,

1. We lack wisdom. We ask you for wisdom, knowing you will give it to us generously. (James 1:5)

2. Teach us your ways, that we may walk in your paths. (Isaiah 2:3)

3. Instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. Counsel us and watch over us. (Psalm 32:8)

4. No matter which way we turn, cause us to hear your voice saying, "This is the way; walk in it." (Isaiah 30:21)

5. In our hearts we may plan our own course, but we ask you to determine our steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

6. Please make our steps firm, and take delight in our way. (Psalm 37:23)

7. Instruct us and teach us the right way. (Isaiah 28:26)

8. Enable us to acknowledge you in all our ways, and you will direct our paths. (Proverbs 3:6)

9. At times we feel blind because we are making decisions about the unknown. Even so, please lead us by ways we have not known, along unfamiliar paths guide us. Turn the darkness into light before us, and make the rough places smooth. (Isaiah 42:16)

10. We praise you that you are the Lord God who teaches us to profit, who leads us by the way we should go. (Isaiah 48:17)

11. May we study your word so that it will be a lamp to our feet, and a light to our paths. (Psalm 119:105)

12. Make know to us the path of life. Fill us with joy in your presence. Remind us that eternal pleasures are at your right hand. (Psalm 16:11)

13. No matter what we may plan in our heart, we pray that your purpose would prevail in our lives. (Proverbs 19:21)

14. For you know the plans you have for us. Assure us that they are plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen
