The Cursed

By: Joyce C. Lock

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children,
and the heart of the children to their fathers,
lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Malachi 4:5-6

~ * ~

My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John 4:34

I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat.

I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. Psalm 143:6

I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Hebrews 11:13

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 2 Cor. 5:1-3

I was naked, and ye clothed me not.

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick ... Proverbs 13:12 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14

I was sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked,
and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace.

1 Cor. 4:11

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Isaiah 58:6-7

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels
with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before
him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one
from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And
he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

~ * ~

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels ...

Inasmuch as ye did it not to one
of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.

Matthew 25:31-33, 41, 45-46
