WHY WAS GOD SORRY AND GRIEVED?

By: Irvin L. Rozier

Genesis 6 verse 6 "And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart."

Wickedness was everywhere...so much so that ONLY ONE man was righteous in the eyes of the Lord...that being Noah.

I once tried to bake a cake and it did not turn out right...I threw the whole mess away and started over..Thank God he did not throw away the whole earth but saved righteous Noah (and his family). The LORD said "it repenteth me that I made them." In other words, He regreted he made man...things didn't turn out right.

This passage of scripture tells us much about the character of God..He has emotions, He felt sorrow and grief. Have you ever felt sorrow and grief when things didn't go as planned? I have, and it comforts me to know that the Lord knows how I feel.

God destroyed the wicked world by a flood, and in the last days will destroy it by fire..There will be a new heaven and a new earth...old things will pass away. We need to look around and see the signs of the times..Is God still grieved about this world?

I am so glad the LORD is compassionate and slow to anger and that he gave mankind another chance (through Noah). Jesus is coming soon.
