The Republic of Angola, is a coastal state of western Africa, with a narrow coastal plain rising to vast interior plateau with rainforst in the northwest, and desert to the south. Today, Angola remains in a state of war that has been going on for more than 31 years. Although a peace agreement was signed in 1991, followed by multi-party elections, the losing party would not accept the results and the war resumed with increased severity.

Surprisingly, the church in Angola has multiplied during the war and persecution. Though thousands of believers were martyred and churches deliberately destroyed, many simple Christians kept their faith and witnessed of the love of Christ to others.
