Belgium is located on the shore of the North Sea in Northern Europe. The nation is divided between the Dutch-related Flemish and the French speaking Walloons. Belgium is a center of international commerce and diplomacy, with the headquarters of the European Union
and NATO located in the capital, Brussels.

Known as "The Crossroads of Europe", Belgium's proximity to England, France, and Germany has been a blessing and a curse. While its location promotes trade and prosperity, throughout its history, Belgium has been overrun by foreign powers involved in wars and disputes with one another. The nation is divided politically into Fleming and Walloon factions.

Belgium is overwhelmingly Catholic, but only one-tenth of the people attend church. Evangelicals make up a tiny and stagnant segment of the population.
