The Unreached Peoples Prayer Profiles
Bosnia-Hercegovina
For more information see the Bosnia-Herzegovina profile.
The Republic of Bosnia & Hercegovina is a landlocked mountainous Balkan State, part of the former Yugoslavia. In recent years, the capital city of Sarajevo was devastated by besieging Serb forces. All efforts by UN and other mediators to stem Serbian aggression and "ethnic cleansing" have failed to deliver a solution acceptable to all warring parties.
This tragedy of the Bosnian people has left deep scars and an abiding hatred between communities that once lived together and even intermarried. No religious group can claim dominance in the divided country, though Islam has the largest percentage. Bosnian Muslims are Europe's least evangelized people and Bosnia has fewer Evangelical believers than any other country in Europe.
