The Unreached Peoples Prayer Profiles
Chad
For more information see the Chad profile.
The Republic of Chad, is a landlocked state with mountains and part of the Sahara Desert in the north, moist savanna in the south; and with rivers in the south flowing north to lake Chad.
There has been a succession of military governments in power since Chad's independence from France in 1960. The latest regime has promised multi-party elections. Muslims have dominated in government since 1979, but there has been religious freedom with the constraints of continual civil war. Civil war and political infighting since independence have fragmented the country along religious and ethnic lines.
There are more totally unreached peoples in Chad than in any other African country.
